Controller
$120,000 to $140,000

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our professional services firm. This role will oversee all accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions while serving as a strategic partner to leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of service-based revenue recognition, project accounting, and operational finance within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and billing

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP

  • Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings

  • Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures

  • Provide financial insights and reporting to support decision-making and performance monitoring

  • Partner with leadership on strategic planning, pricing, and profitability analysis

  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a controller or finance leadership role

  • Prior experience in a professional services firm is highly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and project-based accounting

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
