Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant – Remote | Nonprofit
Salary: $100,000–$110,000
Location: Remote – Pacific Time Zone
A Portland-based nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its fully remote accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nonprofit accounting professional who understands the unique financial reporting, compliance, and operational needs of mission-driven organizations.
Nonprofit Experience Is Required.

Responsibilities
- Own key components of the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Manage general ledger activity and ensure accurate reporting of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses
- Support annual audits, compliance reporting, and other nonprofit financial requirements
- Partner with leadership and internal teams to improve accounting processes, controls, budgeting, and financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Prior nonprofit accounting experience is required
- Strong month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger experience
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Must be located within the Pacific Time Zone
