About the Investor Network
The Investor Network team works with more than 220 institutional investors (managing more than $60 trillion in assets) to advance sustainable investment practices, engage with corporate leaders, and advocate for key policy and regulatory solutions to accelerate the transition to a more just and equitable world. We work both domestically in the U.S. and on global collaborations including Climate Action 100+, The Investor Agenda, the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative, and the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative.

About You
You love data analysis! You are a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about the Ceres mission and cares deeply about the urgent need for corporate climate solutions. You are a strong project manager who thrives on working with data. You are a skilled facilitator and possess an essential literacy for, and interest in, supporting institutional investors who work to reduce both the systemic and company-specific risks of climate change.

About the Role
The Associate, Shareholder Engagement plays a key role in our work with investors on climate change. This position will focus on data tracking and analysis, to support investors who are seeking to improve corporate practices on climate change-related issues through engagements with the companies they own. This role is a full-time position that may work remotely or in Ceres’ Boston or San Francisco offices. Candidates must be flexible to work with employees in all US time zones. The role reports to a Senior Director on the Investor Network team.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide data and analysis of shareholder engagement activity to help with management of investor work across all parts of Ceres and provide data analysis and data collection support for proxy season awareness blogs, reports, and other projects as needed
  • With the direction of the Senior Director, develop and oversee the shareholder resolution tracking process, working with relevant Ceres staff and investors to track resolutions, their statuses, corporate commitments and success stories
  • Manage Ceres’ Investor Portal, including working groups, data tracking and taxonomy, as well as the process for Portal improvements in Salesforce
  • Use Salesforce to generate key reports and analysis spreadsheets, working closely with the Information Systems and Innovation and Evaluation teams to enhance process management
  • Conduct research on the business impacts of climate change; cost-effective decarbonization opportunities, and the public policy context
  • Work with the Ceres Communications Team to draft content for the Ceres Investor Network Portal, newsletter, blogs, press releases, reports and other publications
  • Under the direction of team leadership, coordinate, advise and support investors who engage companies on issues related to climate change
  • Support the team with outreach to investors and other stakeholders, including co-leading virtual group meetings, and assisting with meeting follow-up
  • As requested by team leadership, support the Foundations Team with content on grant proposals, progress reports, and funder outreach
  • Maintain and update project management tools and timelines
  • Coordinate and support special projects and reports, as necessary

Qualifications
We understand that there are many paths to acquiring expertise and experience.   • Minimum of two (2) years professional administrative work experience, preferably experience working in investment or nonprofit sectors on sustainability-related issues
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize projects with a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time
  • Excellent research and problem-solving capabilities and highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation, and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment, sensitivity to diverse constituencies, excellent interpersonal skills, superior leadership ability, strong initiative and motivation
  • Successful record of organizing and executing multiple projects and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Meeting facilitation and oral presentation skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with an ability to manage confidential information and maintain discretion, diplomacy, and courtesy in all contacts
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), other database applications, teleconference and webinar systems and standard e-mail computer applications and willingness to be trained on Ceres specific applications
  • Demonstrated ability to support Ceres’ Commitment to Inclusion and Equity
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation, and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as needed

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring salary range for this position is $52,500 to $55,000.
