FALL INTERN 2022 – COMPANY NETWORK – CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE ANALYST

Position Description & Responsibilities:

The Company Network team engages with the 50+ members of the Ceres Company Network to help them develop sustainable business strategies that address, throughout their value chains, key challenges such as climate change, natural resource depletion and human rights abuses and inequity in all its forms.

To assist in this work, the Company Network is seeking a detail-oriented and accomplished researcher to contribute to the development and execution of corporate engagement strategies. The intern will specifically focus on corporate engagements designed to advance Ceres agenda which is rooted in the impact, business integration and systems change actions called for in the Ceres Roadmap 2030.

The Company Network seeks an intern who will support our corporate engagement work by completing tasks that may include, but not be limited to:

  • Using publicly available information to research and analyze the sustainability performance of individual companies and sectors through the lens of the Ceres Roadmap 2030;

*

  • Providing in-depth research support for ad hoc projects on key topics associated with corporate sustainability;

*

  • Researching, compiling and presenting industry trends and leading practices;

*

  • Developing research briefs for potential member companies, including analyzing performance against the Ceres Roadmap 2030 action plan and identifying opportunities for engagement; and

*

  • Developing question sets to assess corporate sustainability performance.

Our ideal candidate will have a mix of the following skills/experience:

  • Familiarity with key environmental and social sustainability issues that influence, and are influenced by, the private sector

*

  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex sustainability issues and communicate them to a professional audience through excellent verbal and written communication skills

*

  • Experience researching, reviewing and synthesizing multiple different sources (preferably with experience reviewing corporate sustainability reports) of qualitative information into an evaluation of performance and cohesive case for action

*

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently while being part of a team is also important.

*

  • Prior professional experience (full-time, part-time or internship) is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $17.00 per hour
