Climate change is the defining challenge of this century, and healthcare is both a victim of climate change and a major contributor to it. The Centre for Sustainable Medicine (CoSM) at the National University of Singapore works at the frontier of policy, clinical systems, and global health to accelerate the transition to low-carbon, climate-resilient health systems across Asia and worldwide.

Purpose of the Post

We invite applications for an Impact Officer to support the shaping and strategic communication of CoSM’s research, programmes, and partnerships.

The postholder will work across the Centre’s major workstreams - including health system carbon analytics, clinical transformation, and education - translating technical work into clear, compelling, and consistent communications that drive awareness, engagement, and participation among CoSM’s key audiences.

This is a cross-cutting role at the interface of research, policy, and implementation. The successful candidate will help strengthen CoSM’s regional and global presence by supporting impact products, stakeholder engagement processes, and community-building initiatives that strengthen the Centre’s visibility, credibility and influence.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Research translation and impactful storytelling

• Translate technical research outputs (e.g., emissions baselines, economic analyses, adaptation and mitigation frameworks or plans, analytic tools) into briefs, executive summaries, implementation guides, and high-quality communication outputs that strengthen the Centre’s regional and global presence.

• Develop accessible summaries and synthesis materials tailored to different stakeholder groups (ministries, hospital leaders, clinicians, learners, among others).

• Prepare high-level briefing materials, slide decks, and concept notes for international events, multilateral engagements, and partner discussions.

• Shape and refine integrated narrative frameworks that communicate CoSM's strategic value and differentiation, ensuring consistency in tone, clarity, and visual hierarchy across written, digital, and presentation materials.

2. External presence, engagement, and community building

• Lead the development and distribution of long-form and short-form content across CoSM’s digital channels to grow and deepen engagement among clinicians, system leaders, learners, and partners.

• Lead media engagement and external visibility efforts, including drafting materials for press, events, and high-profile local and international convenings.

• Support the strategic positioning of CoSM's flagship initiatives — including health system baselining, the Lancet MedZero, and the Master of Science and Executive Fellowship programmes

• Support the development and coordination of communities of practice on sustainable healthcare across Asia-Pacific and globally, including facilitation of structured dialogues, workshops, events, and convenings that strengthen these communities and CoSM’s relationships with key stakeholders.

• Maintain stakeholder mapping and engagement pipelines to ensure continuity and deepening of partnerships over time.

3. Capacity development programme support

• Develop structured materials that strengthen the positioning and uptake of CoSM's education programmes, ensuring coherence with the Centre's broader research portfolio.

• Lead the outreach and engagement initiatives that build prospective learner pipelines and strengthen participation across regions.

• Track engagement indicators related to education activities and support refinement of programme positioning based on insights.

• Excellent writing and analytical skills, strong editorial judgment, comfortable working across multiple formats: written, visual, and video.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Ability to identify opportunities and creative problem-solving skills in reframing complex issues for different stakeholder groups.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.

Highly desirable

• A strong appreciation for how narrative and storytelling, timing, and stakeholder context influence policy traction and programme participation.

• Experience working with governments, multilateral organisations, or large health systems.
