Role Description The INVESTOR FOR BIOTECH INNOVATION STARTUP role at Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. is a full-time remote position focused on providing strategic capital and guidance to support the company’s growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating funding requirements, structuring investment terms, and collaborating with founders on financial planning and milestones. The investor will review technical and commercial roadmaps, assess market opportunities in industrial enzymes and biomaterials, and advise on risk management and scalability. The role also involves leveraging professional networks to facilitate partnerships, follow-on funding, and customer introductions. The investor is expected to participate in regular virtual meetings, monitor progress against agreed targets, and contribute to governance and long-term strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Strong background in investment, venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance, with experience evaluating early-stage or deep-tech ventures.
• Understanding of biotechnology, industrial enzymes, materials science, or relevant scientific or engineering disciplines, or demonstrated ability to assess technical risk in these domains.
• Experience in climate-tech, sustainable manufacturing, circular economy, or impact investing, with interest in decarbonization and waste-to-value business models.
• Skills in financial modeling, valuation, deal structuring, and portfolio management, including familiarity with term sheets and cap table dynamics.
• Ability to provide strategic mentorship on go-to-market, scaling operations, and international market entry for industrial and B2B customers.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, startup environment and participate in governance or advisory boards.
• Prior experience supporting startups in India or emerging markets is an advantage; global exposure to biotech or materials industries is beneficial.
• Relevant academic background in business, finance, economics, science, or engineering is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
