Business Development Associate – Climate Tech SaaS 

Locations: New York, NY · Eastern North Carolina (Triangle to Greenville) 


Type of work: Hybrid. 90% remote; occasional travel for 2-3 days to collaborate with team in person. 


Compensation: $60,000 / year + benefits 


Starting date: May 2026. Open to a trial period as a contractor starting immediately leading up to this date. 


Who We Are 

CEART is building the intelligence layer for the clean energy revolution. We're a fast-scaling startup connecting renewable power generation, data infrastructure, and financial systems through AI-driven software. Founded by clean energy professionals, our position is that many of the primary bottlenecks to solving for climate changes is transactional inefficiency; we have built, and continue to improve, an excellent solution and are preparing a national go-to-market campaign.

The Role 

We need a Business Development Associate who thrives in the controlled chaos of startup life. You'll be on the front lines — hunting leads, running demos, refining our pitch, and helping us figure out what resonates as we scale from early traction to serious revenue growth. 


This isn't a "smile and dial" job. You'll work directly with founders, shape our go-to-market strategy in real time, and own relationships that turn into large deals. What You'll Actually Do 

  • Hunt and qualify leads across enterprise energy, finance, and infrastructure sectors 
  • Run discovery calls and product demos in a manner that combines platform knowledge and confidence and professional enthusiasm 
  • Personalize outreach — we don't do spray-and-pray; every message needs to land 
  • Partner with founders and product to iterate messaging, refine positioning, and close gaps in our sales process 
  • Track everything in Pipedrive (our CRM) — clean data, tight follow-ups, no exceptions 
  • Move fast and learn faster — we're building the plane while flying it, and your feedback shapes what we build next 


What We're Looking For 

  • 1–2 years in SaaS or B2B sales (SDR/BDR/inside sales experience ideal) 
  • Experience giving product demos — especially leveraging tools like Loom, Storylane, or similar demo automation platforms (this is a big plus); we have not built this feature yet, so we can learn together or leverage your experience if you have it 
  • Strong communication skills — you can translate complex tech into clear, compelling stories 
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — startup life means wearing multiple hats and solving problems that don't have a playbook yet 
  • CRM fluency (we use Pipedrive; Salesforce experience translates) 
  • Genuine curiosity about climate tech, energy systems, and/or fintech 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
