Energy Manager (Hybrid - Portland, OR)
**About the Role:** The purpose of this position is to manageand support implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives for a CBREHealthcare account based in Oregon. Role is hybrid, requiring at least2-3 days on-site at the client's location in Portland, Oregon. **What You'll Do:**
- Developenergy management & sustainability strategy for clients' real estateportfolios, with a focus on compliance to Oregon State's Energy PerformanceStandard Policy. Leveraging andmaximizing incentive funding through Energy Trust of Oregon.
- Knowledgeof healthcare environments and compliance requirements with best practicesapplied through initiatives accordingly.
- Abilityto design energy program and roadmap for client's carbon neutralitygoals/commitments, including optimization, renewable energy opportunities, andREC purchasing strategies.
- Implementprograms to achieve savings goals and targets by specified timelines
- Analyzeenergy and water consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create plansto sustain energy savings
- Leadidentification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operationalchanges and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption(may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls,plug loads, distributed generation, employee engagement, and evaluating newtechnologies and services)
- Establish/ monitor utilities budgets and identify trends, discrepancies and insights toinform operational strategies
- Provideforecasts of utility expenses throughout the portfolio
- Developand evaluate financial viability of projects for budgeting and approvalincluding development of engineering energy savings calculation, return oninvestment and potentially marginal abatement cost curve modeling
- Reportclear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities (costsavings, CO 2 , water, etc.), and achievements on prescribed intervalsas requested by client
- Communicateplans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings
- Supportwater saving programs and recycling programs as requested
- Supportnew business pursuits and business development through relationship buildingand building walkthroughs
- Abilityto perform energy analysis and energy efficiency calculations
- Strongcomputer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint,online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and dataanalysis applications
- Abilityto multi-task and effectively prioritize and organize responsibilities. Strongproject management and leadership skills
- Advanced,in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts,particularly related to the healthcare built environment.
- Knowledgeof HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation and control systems acrossa variety of building types
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS in engineering (electrical,mechanical, industrial, civil) or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience and knowledgearound City of Portland and Oregon State Building Performance Standards, andexperience working with Oregon Energy Trust for Incentive Finding. (Or similarState-run standards, i.e. Washington)
- Strong proven experience with energyconservation, energy management, performance contracting or energy engineering.
- Experience with building automationsystem/controls and commissioning/retro-commissioning processes andimprovements ideal.
- Proven record of excellentinternal and external customer service
- Professional Engineer (PE) and/orCertified Energy Manager (CEM) highly desired
- Sustainability Accreditation (e.g.,LEED, or WELL AP) preferred
- Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely,reliable, and courteous service to customers.
- Ability to effectively presentinformation at various levels tactical personnel to strategic leadership.
- Ability to respond effectively tosensitive issues
- Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Abilityto calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, andcommissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requiresadvanced analytical and quantitative skills
- Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred.Training and accreditation part of development and performance managementrequirements
- Experience with Microsoft suite, Smartsheet, Tableau Prep Conductor or Power Query, TableauDesktop or Microsoft PowerBI, and SharePoint is a plus.
