Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate electrical/PV drawings, specifications, calculations (such as cable sizing), charts, and graphs.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL, and local permitting requirements)
  • Review and provide feedback on vendor design and documentation.
  • Provide field support, which could include site visits to verify that work aligns with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Support preconstruction/proposal activities, such as cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, formats and change orders.
  • Evaluate and recommend renewable energy technologies and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
  • Provide procurement support as needed

Requirements:

  • 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or similar degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the electrical utility or renewable energy sector; previous experience in construction activities preferred.
  • General knowledge of SCADA System and Network design, including wiring specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques, preferably in solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substation engineering.
  • Requires broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials and the economics involved.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, Adobe programs; experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, and Procore is a plus.
  • OSHA safety training is preferred.
  • Occasional travel.
