We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, life sciences, institutional, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions throughout all phases of design and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for building projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Develop electrical plans and details using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and other project disciplines.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and site visits.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction administration.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Support project managers with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in MEP consulting, building systems design, or related engineering fields.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IBC, and other applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, life sciences, industrial, or institutional facilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar power system analysis software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy-efficient building systems.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
