Electrical Engineer: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and work on a variety of building design projects. This role will focus on electrical system design, calculations, construction documents, and coordination with clients and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for commercial, institutional, multifamily, and other building projects.
  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, standby power, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and other required engineering calculations.
  • Develop construction documents, drawings, specifications, and electrical details.
  • Conduct site surveys and field observations to verify existing conditions and determine equipment locations and requirements.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
  • Respond to permit, landlord, architectural, and client comments.
  • Review equipment submittals and provide construction administration support.
  • Assist with project schedules, coordination, and client communication.
  • Lead and/or manage electrical design on assigned projects.
  • Perform quality control of your own work and assist with QC efforts across the team.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior engineers and designers.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 4+ years of electrical design experience in a building engineering or MEP environment.
  • Strong experience with electrical design for commercial or other building projects.
  • Experience with electrical load calculations, power distribution, lighting, and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable building and electrical codes, including NEC, IBC, NFPA, and IECC.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform field observations, including carrying equipment and working around heights.

Preferred

  • 8+ years of directly related experience.
  • Active PE license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience leading projects or managing junior staff.
  • Experience with electrical analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, or similar.
  • Familiarity with LEED and other sustainable design standards.
