What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, the Commercial Operations Lead plays a central role in CarbonRun’s commercial growth and project delivery. This position bridges business development, customer success, and capital strategy, ensuring the smooth coordination of projects, partnerships, and reporting to support both near-term execution and long-term growth.
Customer Success & Carbon Removal Unit (CRU) Delivery
- Coordinate CRU delivery and customer-facing reporting to ensure buyer expectations are met and delivery timelines are achieved.
 - Track project milestones and maintain visibility into CRU inventory and project pipeline, aligning projected supply with buyer demand.
 - Translate supply projections into actionable insights that inform revenue planning and international development priorities.
 - Build and support relationships with offtake buyers, proactively identifying delivery risks and ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
 
Business Development & Revenue Operations
- Drive diligence processes for prospective CRU buyers and funders, supporting proposal writing, internal coordination, and information sharing.
 - Support revenue planning and forecasting in close collaboration with project, finance, and operations teams.
 - Contribute to pricing discussions and assist with the commercial structuring of offtake agreements.
 
Funding & Capital Strategy
- Support non-dilutive funding initiatives, including grant identification, proposal development, and coordination across teams.
 - Manage existing funding reporting requirements and ensure deliverables are met.
 - Contribute to capital planning and investor materials in preparation for CarbonRun’s next equity raise.
 
Strategic Project Enablement
- Support early-stage project development efforts by identifying and engaging new partners aligned with CarbonRun’s growth regions.
 - Collaborate with Science, Operations, and Finance teams on project planning, budgeting, and financial modeling.
 - Contribute to project financing activities, including techno-economic analysis and credit costing inputs.
 
Financial Coordination & Project Costing
- Partner with the Controller and Project Development Manager to track and interpret project costs (CapEx, OpEx, overhead).
 - Contribute to the development of project-level and company-wide financial models focused on unit economics and return analysis.
 - Standardize cost tracking templates to support budgeting, grant compliance, and investor communications.
 
Internal Systems & Market Insights
- Support the development of internal systems to manage CRU tracking, dashboards, and investor reporting.
 - Coordinate with Science and Technical teams to align data systems with commercial operations.
 - Monitor voluntary carbon markets, policy incentives, and funding trends to inform business development strategy and international expansion.
 
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate brings 3–5+ years of progressive experience across operations, finance, business development, or customer success, ideally within a climate tech, clean tech, or impact-driven organization. You have a strong foundation in project coordination, financial analysis, and stakeholder management, with the ability to navigate cross-functional collaboration and communicate effectively at all levels.
You’re analytical yet action-oriented, someone who can translate data and strategy into execution. You thrive in dynamic environments where no two days are the same and take pride in moving complex initiatives forward with precision and accountability.
