About Us
CarbonGuru is a climate-tech venture developing agriculture-based carbon removal projects (e.g., biochar, regenerative practices) with Indian smallholder farmers as stewards of the movement. We design and execute high-integrity carbon removal projects that deliver measurable benefits for farmers, markets, and the planet. We work at the intersection of agriculture, climate, and carbon markets to build scalable, ground-up run, and farmer-centric climate solutions.
Role Summary
This is a high-ownership, generalist role for a driven individual who wants to work directly with the founders and gain hands-on exposure to solving real-world challenges. You’ll contribute across strategy, operations, communications, and execution to help CarbonGuru grow as a climate–agri-tech venture.
The role requires an entrepreneurial approach, practical execution skills, creative problem-solving, and strong strategic thinking. You will drive end-to-end execution to serve our customers, partners, and our community of smallholder farmers.
Ideal candidates are relentlessly curious, deeply purposeful, and thrive in ambiguous environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Problem-Solving
- Support the founders in solving high-impact business and field challenges
- Conduct research, analyze data, and structure recommendations for founder-level and leadership decision-making
- Assist in strategic projects including new initiatives, partnerships, product development, and overall business planning
- Lead or support the quarterly OKR process across relevant teams and workstreams
2. Operations & Execution
- Systemize and prioritize project management tasks across multiple ongoing initiatives
- Create innovative pathways to quickly move key metrics for running projects (carbon, climate, farmer engagement, partnerships, etc.)
- Execute critical projects such as hiring support, research and analytics, pilot design, validation, and documentation
- Support rollout of operational dashboards and project tracking systems; report insights to founders and leadership
3. Project & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal teams, implementation partners, farmer groups, and clients
- Ensure completion of cross-functional and high-priority initiatives on time and with high quality
- Represent CarbonGuru across stakeholder groups in the carbon, climate, and agriculture ecosystem
4. Founders’ Support & Coordination
- Help manage the founders’ calendars, meeting preparation, and logistics
- Act as a liaison between the founders and different business verticals and functions
- Attend key internal and external meetings and run diligence (briefings, note-taking, action tracking, and follow-ups)
5. Hiring & Team Support
- Assist in identifying and onboarding high-performance talent for CarbonGuru
- Help set up SOPs and document new processes across projects and teams
- Support implementation of team performance tracking systems and new workflows to enhance overall productivity
What We’re Looking For
Education
- B.Tech/B.E/Masters/PhD from tier-1 institutions (e.g., IITs, top engineering or policy schools) preferred
- Final-year students or recent graduates are eligible
- Past internship experience in climate, agri-tech, sustainability, consulting, or startups is preferred
Skills
- Reliable team player, loyal to the mission and the smallholder farming ecosystem
- Exceptional ability to structure problems and find solutions in ambiguous situations
- Proactive problem-solver with strong ownership and grit to get things done
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Clear and concise communication with diverse stakeholders (farmers, founders, partners, clients)
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
