About Us

The Carbon Market Institute (CMI) is Australia’s peak industry body for carbon markets and climate transition professionals. We work with business, government, and stakeholders to support credible climate action and Australia’s transition to net zero.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Executive Support & Operations Officer to support our CEO, team operations, events, and governance processes.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, this is a diverse and hands-on role that plays an important part in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing executive support to the CEO including diary management, travel coordination, meeting preparation, and stakeholder communications
  • Supporting internal administration, office coordination, team processes, and documentation
  • Assisting with the delivery of events, workshops, member engagements, and stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinating Board and Committee meetings including scheduling, preparation of papers, minute taking, and follow-up actions
  • Supporting membership administration and maintaining organisational systems and records

About You

You will bring:

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in administration, executive support, events coordination, or similar roles
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion, and initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and digital collaboration tools
  • A collaborative and positive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a small, high-performing team

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting Boards or Committees
  • Experience in member-based organisations, not-for-profits, or policy environments
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or BoardEffect
  • Interest in climate, sustainability, or carbon markets
