Role Description The Product Designer will work on-site in Coimbatore in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and sustainability teams to design climate-tech products and user experiences. Responsibilities include translating complex environmental technologies into intuitive interfaces and physical product experiences, creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity visuals for digital and hardware-related touchpoints. The role involves conducting user research and usability testing with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform product decisions and improve existing solutions. The Product Designer will contribute to product strategy, support the development of design systems, prepare design documentation and specifications, and ensure that all solutions align with Carbelim’s mission of clean air and carbon-neutral growth.
Qualifications
  • Strong Product Design skills with the ability to work across digital interfaces and physical product experiences.
  • Proficiency in Visual Design, including layout, typography, color, and component-level design for user-facing solutions.
  • Solid grounding in Design Thinking, with experience in framing problems, ideating, prototyping, and iterating based on feedback.
  • Experience in User Research and UX Research, including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Comfort with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and basic knowledge of prototyping or collaboration tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate design rationale clearly, and work on-site in a fast-paced climate-tech environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience in hardware or sustainability-focused products is a plus.
  • Interest in climate-tech, environmental innovation, and designing for measurable impact on air quality and urban sustainability.
