Bid Manager
ABOUT CARBELIM
Carbelim is a climate-tech startup pioneering microalgae-based Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS). We build biomimetic façades and photobioreactor systems that capture CO₂, purify urban air, and convert biomass into biochar and verified carbon credits. Incubated at IIT Madras and recognised by MIT Solve, Forbes India, and the World Filtration Institute, we are scaling science-driven solutions for healthier, climate-resilient cities.
ROLE SUMMARY
We’re looking for a proactive Bid Manager to drive our non-dilutive funding and business pipeline. You’ll identify and pursue grant opportunities, hunt and respond to relevant tenders, and create the written content that supports both — from proposals to compelling company narratives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Grants: Research and track relevant grant opportunities (government R&D schemes, climate/cleantech funds, accelerators, international programs). Prepare and submit complete, compliant grant applications.
– Tenders: Hunt for relevant tenders across government and corporate portals, assess eligibility, prepare bid documentation, and submit applications before deadlines.
– Content: Write and maintain content for proposals, pitch documents, capability statements, the website, and outreach material — translating technical CCUS work into clear, persuasive language.
– Maintain a tracker of opportunities, deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.
– Coordinate with technical and leadership teams to gather inputs for applications.
– Ensure all submissions meet formatting, eligibility, and compliance requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
– 2 years of experience in grant writing, tender/bid management, proposal writing, or content and business development.
– Strong written English and content creation skills.
– Proven ability to identify funding/tender opportunities and manage applications end-to-end.
– Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple submissions simultaneously.
– Comfortable understanding and communicating technical concepts (climate-tech / sustainability background is a plus).
– Familiarity with government tender portals and grant platforms preferred.
NICE TO HAVE
– Experience in climate-tech, cleantech, sustainability, NGO, or startup environments.
– Exposure to carbon markets, CDR / carbon credits, or ESG topics.
WHAT WE OFFER
– A high-ownership role in a fast-growing, mission-driven climate-tech startup.
– Direct exposure to founders, investors, and global accelerator networks.
– The chance to fund and shape real-world decarbonisation deployments.
