About the Role:


We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Lead to join our partner at an early stage of growth. This role will work closely with the Co-Founder and a Fractional CFO, taking ownership of core finance operations while also supporting broader commercial and strategic initiatives. You will initially focus on hands-on financial management, bookkeeping oversight, and reporting, while gradually taking on more responsibility across commercial decision-making, financial planning, and business operations. This is a highly visible role with a clear pathway towards a senior leadership position as the company scales.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including bookkeeping, reporting, and financial controls.
  • Work alongside the Fractional CFO to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage multiple concurrent financial workstreams, ensuring accuracy and consistency across projects.
  • Support commercial decision-making by providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Assist with cash flow management, financial modelling, and cost tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable financial infrastructure as the business grows.


Ideal Background & Experience:

  • Previous experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
  • Background in a start-up, scale-up, or fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Experience across both accounting and commercial finance is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Exposure to climate tech, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries is advantageous.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to think beyond pure accounting
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a start-up environment
  • Strong communicator, able to work closely with founders and external stakeholders
  • Ambitious, with a desire to grow into a senior leadership role over time.


Compensation:

  • Competitive salary (£50-60K DOE).
