Investment Associate (Renewable Energy, IPP)

Our client is a private equity backed renewable energy business with an active pipeline of projects moving through development, financing and construction. It's a busy time for them, with live transactions and a steady flow of investment decisions. They're adding an Associate to a small, high-calibre investment team.
This role sits at the centre of the deal flow. You'll work closely with the team lead on the analysis and transactions that move projects forward.
What you'll be doing
- Building and maintaining financial models to underpin investment decisions, valuations and scenario analysis.
- Supporting debt financing processes, from model work through to lender materials and process management.
- Analysing commercial and revenue contracts, and helping shape the team's view on risk and return.
- Assisting with the evaluation of acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- Preparing investment papers and transaction materials for senior decision-makers.
- Working across the wider business to keep analysis and commercial strategy aligned.
There is a genuine development path. The right person will be given progressively more ownership of transactions as they grow.
What they're looking for
- 2–5 years in a developer, IPP, infrastructure fund, bank, or advisory role.
- Strong project finance modelling skills. This is essential (a PF model case study is part of the interview process)
- Knowledge of the Australian electricity market is a plus. Strong modellers from other infrastructure sectors are welcome.
- Comfort working with contracts and transaction documentation.
- A clear communicator who builds good working relationships across a business.
- Someone with the capacity and appetite to grow. Team fit matters a great deal here.
