We are working with a growing technology company specialising in residential and commercial charging infrastructure, who are looking for a Field Service Technician to join their team.

This is a hands-on technical role supporting the hardware, software, connectivity and backend systems associated with installed charging equipment.


The Role:

You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, both remotely and on-site, working closely with customers, engineers, suppliers and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support for charging equipment and associated software platforms.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and user-access issues.
  • Attend customer and project sites to investigate and repair faulty equipment.
  • Guide customers through remote troubleshooting and corrective procedures.
  • Manage technical tickets from initial diagnosis through to resolution, working within agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering, product, suppliers or field service teams where required.
  • Manage supplier tickets and RMAs through to completion.
  • Monitor backend systems and live networks for performance, connectivity and alerts.
  • Set up and support electrical equipment following installation and commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, repairs and resolutions.
  • Support customer onboarding and provide basic product training.
  • Manage equipment stock and assist with regular stock checks.


Required:

  • 5+ years' experience in technical support, field service, electrical equipment or a similar technical environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across both hardware and software.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as Salesforce, Freshdesk, Zoho or HubSpot.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of issues from start to finish.
  • Experience with IoT, connected devices, telecoms, energy technology or charging infrastructure is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word and Excel, with strong general PC and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of OCPP, cloud platforms, APIs or IoT protocols would be advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to customer/project sites.
