Job Description: This position will be responsible for leading a team and overseeing, directing, and managing the EHS programs for our manufacturing plant located in Jeffersonville, IN. This is a multi-faceted role which encompasses the management and implementation of quality systems; development and implementation of quality processes, procedures, and tools; management of internal and external quality audits; and supplier management.

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Safety Expertise
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety practices, with strong alignment to regulatory standards, including 29 CFR 1926. Ability to implement, monitor, and enforce safety programs/policies/etc. on construction sites.
  • Manufacturing Safety Expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements, including compliance with 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and applicable sections of 29 CFR 1926. Experience managing safety systems and ability to implement, monitor, and enforce safety programs/policies/etc. in industrial/manufacturing environments
  • Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards under 29 CFR 1910.119 . Proven ability to manage highly hazardous chemicals, conduct process hazard analyses (PHA), lead incident investigations, and ensure compliance with OSHA PSM elements.
  • Establish and develops environmental, health, and safety procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for achieving ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications
  • Supporting on managing projects involving environmental site assessment, site investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, sediments, etc.
  • Investigate, record and compile reports for environmental-related complaints.
  • Pollution-control and waste treatment planning.
  • Facilitate and support EHS hazard identification and risk assessment in each responsible area.
  • Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety-training programs.
  • Assists in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments with the determination of effective controls and risk mitigation in support of Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
  • Direct and manage the Internal and external EHS Audit Programs, conducting Health & Safety inspections, audits, and surveys/ assessments.
  • Communicate actively with government supervision department to ensure the local EHS compliance.
  • Work with other manufacturing facilities across the globe to increase EHS processes and systems

Qualifications:

  • University degree or above major in safety engineering, or environment studies.
  • ASP/CSHO or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum of 10-12 years progressively responsible experience in an EHS-related field, preferably with administrative and management responsibility in a highly technical manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of best practices and environmental and safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state, and local.
  • Experience and knowledge in OSHA, EPA, and PHMSA regulatory requirements.
  • Significant experience with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • ISO 140001 & 45001 knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge of property insurance, electrical, and fire code requirements.
  • Ability to obtain professional certifications in safety, health, or environmental professional organizations.
  • Required knowledge in First Aid, CPR, and any other relevant medical training.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, highly motivated, forward thinking, and proactive.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, good problem-solving skills, and “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cell manufacturing equipment, such as automation, AGV , heat treatment related industry and cleaning industry.
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is a plus.
  • TPM Knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and update skills.

Working Conditions:

  • May require occasional travel to other facilities or vendor locations.
  • Standard office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • May require extended hours or flexibility depending on working needs.
