CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as a Temporary Human Resources Generalist II. This position will support the People Operations team, and report directly to the Lead Manager, Total Rewards & HR Systems. This role will have the opportunity to help program implementations, training and development, labor regulation and compliance, and HR analytics.



Additionally, the Temporary HR Generalist II will:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Administer and implement programs including but not limited to leadership development program, HRIS systems, benefits, performance and talent management, training and development, and compliance and safety.
  • Handles complex and sensitive employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and leaders.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices based on regulatory changes and industry trends.
  • Partner with the team to launch an updated Handbook to review policies and practices with employees and new hires.
  • Assess and recommend processes for continuous improvement to support the establishment HR operational procedures.
  • Coordinate communication strategies and create materials (dashboard visuals, charts, presentations, emails etc.) to effectively resonate with a wide range of audiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Psychology, other related fields, or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience with a focus on program implementation, training and development, and regulation and compliance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with different HR systems and databases
  • The ability to balance work independently in a fast-paced, remote work environment while collaborate with a high functioning team
  • Strong analytical, high attention to detail, and excellent creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • General data competency and experience managing, analyzing, and visualizing data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint

Desired Qualifications

  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Experience working with ADP, BambooHR, and BreezyHR
