Foundation Grants Manager - Remote

CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person who is passionate about improving air quality and combatting climate change globally. Our Foundation Grants Manager (GM) will lead management and execution of existing foundation grant reporting requirements, assisting with the development of proposals for new foundation funding (primarily for policy work, though other areas of funding will be explored as well) from RFP through submission by working with internal and external stakeholders, and researching potential funders. The Grants Manager will work closely with CALSTART policy staff, finance and others to ensure proposals and reports are completed consistently, accurately, professionally and on time. The Grants Manager will be a key member of the growing Development Team.
Additionally, the Grants Manager will:

  • Manage day-to-day obligations of grant management for existing foundation grants and foundation proposal activities for the organization and ensure proposal needs are being met across the organization
  • Convene meetings with internal and external stakeholders discussing proposal concept, design, and execution, ensuring CALSTART's interests remain at the forefront
  • Ensure all proposals and reports are submitted on time.
  • Work with accounting staff to generate financial reports
  • Write, edit, and assemble proposals as needed and requested
  • Ensure all library documents, CRM, and other tools are updated regularly
  • Enter all Foundation information and updates into CRM and other online systems
  • Research new foundations to pursue, abstract, and present to teams

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Communications, English, or other related field
  • Five years of proven experience working in nonprofit development/grants/fundraising space
  • Three Years' experience managing foundation grants
  • Experience securing with Foundation Funding
  • Basic Understanding of Program Budgets
  • Superior Writing and Communication Skills
  • Three years project management experience
  • Ability to navigate cloud-based tools (e.g., Office 365)
  • Experience using and/or developing Project Management Tools
  • Experience with CRMs (e.g., Salesforce)

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree
  • Project Management Certification in addition to graduate degree
  • Experience in Clean Transportation
  • 5 Years of Experience Managing Grants
  • Advanced experience with budgeting
  • Exceptional Writing and Communication Skills
