Job Description And Duties

Under the general direction of the Project and Program Supervisor, the analyst will be part of a team of energy professionals and will use their analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex regulatory problems. Specifically, the analyst will assist with the oversight of the Technology and Equipment for Clean Heating (TECH) Initiative and other incentive programs aimed at decarbonizing buildings, as well as contribute to policy development in the CPUC's Building Decarbonization Proceeding (R.19-01-011).

This is a senior-level analyst position and will involve the responsibility of providing regulatory oversight for large energy programs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, developing technical research and overseeing evaluation studies, leading meetings and providing presentations, and all aspects of achieving the state's goals of addressing climate change through building electrification.

The California Public Utilities Commission is one the State’s lead agencies working to reduce carbon emissions and encourage sustainability in California. The Building Decarbonization Section seeks to decarbonize California's residences and workplaces by encouraging a transition to buildings and appliances powered by clean electric generation.

  • Describe your ability to conduct technical, economic, financial and/or policy research and analysis, identify issues, and make suitable recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Describe your ability to collaborate with colleagues and establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships.
