Energy Storage & Integration Supervisor
Are you an energy leader ready to commercialize long duration energy storage projects? California Energy Commission (CEC) is hiring a Supervisor of the Energy Storage & Integration Unit . This leadership position is a Program & Project Supervisor (PUC) state classification and will be responsible for managing an established technical team within the Industry & Carbon Management Branch of our Energy Research & Development Division (ERDD).
Energy Research & Development Division (ERDD ) deploys over $300 million annually to advance technology innovation and research supporting the state’s clean energy and climate goals, including in the areas of renewable energy supply, building and industrial decarbonization, sustainable transportation, energy storage, energy distribution, resilience and reliability, and carbon management.
** Telework option available, but hired candidate must reside somewhere in California before starting. Occasional travel to headquarters in Sacramento, CA is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in energy technology innovation and energy sector analysis, ideally including energy storage.
- Experience in leading technical programs or projects.
- Ability to lead a high-performing, highly motivated team, to build team capabilities, and to foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, respect, and excellence.
- Ability to supervise a team to produce timely, quality work products.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment, with a high level of organization, and to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to productively address and resolve conflict.
- Ability to represent the Division and CEC in meetings, conferences, hearings, and workshops with state and federal agencies, the Legislature, companies, research organizations, communities, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including with non-expert audiences.
