Distributed Energy Resource Specialist
Are you an energy professional with strong data management and project management skills? California Energy Commission (CEC) is hiring two Distributed Energy Resource Specialists within the Reliability Analysis Branch of the Energy Assessments Division (EAD). The two people hired will be working in the Electric Generation System Specialist I (EGSS I) state classification.
Our Distributed Energy Resource Specialists will complete technical work on demand flexibility and distributed energy resources (DERs) to inform CEC’s grid planning efforts, energy policy, and market development. The DER Specialists will utilize large data sources to analyze trends in the utilization of one or more types of DERs, such as electric vehicles, bidirectional charging, energy storage, heat pumps, and commercial and industrial demand response.
EAD assesses California’s electricity, natural gas, petroleum, and transportation systems and trends to provide information to the state’s decision makers and the public. These assessments inform the development and implementation of energy policies that balance the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals.
