Compliance Manager
Certifying thermal power plants is one of the seven core responsibilities of the California Energy Commission (CEC), as established in the Warren-Alquist Act. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Compliance Manager (Senior Environmental Planner).
In this role, you will serve as a project leader responsible for guiding and overseeing highly complex and technical compliance projects for California’s jurisdictional power plant fleet. You will provide expert consultation on project amendments (both major and minor), manage construction oversight, and conduct environmental analyses to support statewide programs and energy-related initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead complex compliance and enforcement projects related to thermal power plants.
- Provide expert consultation on project amendments, environmental compliance, and technical oversight.
- Conduct construction oversight for CEC-jurisdictional power plants.
- Perform environmental analyses to support energy-related grant and loan programs.
- Develop solutions to the most difficult and complex compliance challenges.
- Act as a prime resource on energy-related issues of statewide and global importance.
- Support California’s climate change goals and global-warming solutions programs.
- Coordinate the efforts of technical staff and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
