? What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Multimedia Unit, you’ll take the lead in crafting dynamic digital content that educates, inspires, and engages Californians. Reporting to the Multimedia Unit Supervisor, you will independently plan, conceptualize, and produce digital videos and multimedia projects that bring the CEC’s mission to life.
⚡Your work will appear across CEC social media platforms, websites, mass email campaigns, and through internal and external partners, helping millions understand California’s energy innovations and climate goals.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing original digital content, from storyboarding and shooting to editing and delivering final products.
- Producing a wide range of multimedia: videos, motion graphics, visual explainers, and more.
- Tailoring messages to diverse audiences across platforms, using an understanding of digital behavior to guide tone, length, visuals, and format.
- Ensuring all visual storytelling aligns with CEC branding standards.
- Shooting with professional video and audio equipment (including drones!) and managing production gear.

⚡Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge, skills, abilities, that demonstrate a high degree of experience in professional-level video, media production and/or animated graphic design.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and produce a variety of professional-quality audio, video, and multi-media productions from start to finish.
- High-level fluency in post-production software applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, After Effects), Final Cut Pro, and Da Vinci Resolve.
- Experience shooting and maintaining video production hardware including video cameras, drone equipment and piloting, audio equipment, grip and lighting equipment and demonstrated skill in their proper use.
- Interest in energy and energy climate change issues.
