Chief Financial Officer (Renewable Energy Business)

This is an opportunity to play a central role in the growth of a renewable energy business across Southeast Asia. Working closely with the leadership team, the CFO will shape the company’s growth strategy, lead project financing and build the financial capabilities needed for regional expansion. The role requires an entrepreneurial and commercially sharp leader who can drive project finance and M&A, establish a strong finance function and influence the wider business.


Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Finance

  • Lead project finance activities across the renewable energy portfolio, including debt raising, lender negotiations and financial close.
  • Drive M&A and investment transactions, covering opportunity assessment, financial modelling, due diligence, structuring and execution.
  • Oversee fundraising, capital planning and relationships with lenders, investors and other financial partners.


Accounting & Finance

  • Build and oversee the regional finance function, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, treasury and controls.
  • Establish scalable financial processes, systems and governance frameworks as the business grows.
  • Provide clear financial reporting and insights to senior leadership, shareholders and the Board.


Commercial

  • Work closely with development, investment and operational teams on project strategy, commercial structures and key business decisions.
  • Support negotiations relating to PPAs, project contracts, bids, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
  • Assess new markets and opportunities across Southeast Asia, balancing commercial potential, project risks and capital requirements.


Key Requirements

  • Finance leadership experience within renewable energy sector is essential.
  • Strong project finance and M&A experience, ideally covering transactions from evaluation through to financial close.
  • Sound technical accounting, financial control and regional reporting capabilities.
  • Good understanding of renewable energy projects, commercial structures and project economics.
  • Experience working across Southeast Asian markets and multiple jurisdictions.
  • Entrepreneurial, commercially astute and comfortable operating in a growing, hands-on environment.
