The Environment & Sustainability team is dedicated to protecting Calgary’s natural resources and minimizing our airports’ ecological footprint. What Are Some Of The Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and maintain sustainability and ESG data (including GHG emissions, energy, water, waste, and noise metrics) to ensure accurate and complete datasets for reporting.
  • Manage ESG documentation, records, and evidence files for audits, certifications, and regulatory reporting using established processes and templates.
  • Input, update, and organize environmental data within sustainability systems and databases (e.g., SQL, dashboards) to ensure accessibility and traceability.
  • Track sustainability programs and performance indicators, identify variances, and report findings for review and follow-up.
  • Gather and organize sustainability data from internal departments and external stakeholders, clarifying requirements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Respond to internal and external data requests, maintain records of stakeholder interactions, and support engagement with partners such as utilities and municipal organizations.
  • Prepare routine sustainability reports, summaries, and data outputs; investigate data discrepancies and escalate complex issues.
  • Compile and maintain documentation for regulatory programs such as the airport’s noise management program, ensuring compliance with submission requirements and timelines.

What Do You Need To Bring

  • Environmental industry-focused vocational training is required; Post secondary diploma in sustainability, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, climate change, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental analysis, or a related analytical role, including demonstrated experience working with sustainability performance metrics, data analysis, and reporting frameworks is required.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and produce accurate, audit-ready reports and technical documentation.
  • Ability to gather and clarify technical data requirements, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and produce clear, structured written reports and documentation.
  • This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.

What Additional Skills Are An Asset

  • Working knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD, IFRS, Envision®)
  • Experience supporting projects or programs in a complex operational or infrastructure environment is an asset.
  • Exposure to climate risk assessments or environmental performance tracking initiatives.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
