Special Corpsmember - Residential Staff

Primary Duties:

  • Personal interaction with Corpsmembers (CM) - Talking with and supervising residential CM's during evenings, weekends, and on Center recreation trips. Direct CM's to classes, and provide them with referrals to program resources (counselors, health professionals, etc.).
  • Clerical - Answer phones during non-business hours, assist in scheduling classes, and guest lecturers. Notify proper Campus staff during emergencies. Assist the CM Development CII (supervisor) and Residential Advisor with special projects.
  • Health and Safety - Perform room and facility inspections for cleanliness, document damaged property, and complete related forms.
  • Recreation - Plan recreational activities, arrange transportation, and oversee CM's during activities. Monitor activities during weekends and evenings. Talk with CM's and assist with program requirements. Help incorporate positive recreational and academic activities into CCC center life.
  • Security - Check-in visitors, document vehicle use, check all buildings and vehicles are secure on property. Document policy violations and safety hazards.
  • Volunteerism - Plan volunteer activities, arrange transportation, coordinate with community groups, and supervise CM's during volunteer activities.

Shift: Weekend Graveyards & various evenings and weekends also available; priority hiring for weekend graveyards, can be part time or supplement with additional shifts for full time.

Wage: $19.00 per hour, plus paid vacation, sick leave, and optional medical insurance.

Qualifications:
A strong desire and experience interacting in a positive manner with young adults; ability to understand and strictly enforce State of California policies; valid California driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to obtain a Commercial Class C license; ability to work independently; the ability to proficiently operate a computer and use email. Personal characteristics include punctuality, integrity, energy, honesty, cooperation, adaptability, personal initiative, good decision making, clear communication, and the ability to follow instructions. Selected applicants will be asked to complete a pre-employment background check.
