Summary: The successful Welder is knowledgeable on how to use all welding equipment and is proficient in general assembly applications. Welders are responsible for bracket installation and structural processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Reads blueprints
• Use of measuring tape (metric is preferred)
• Understands tolerances and the use of levels, squares, and other measuring devices
• Use of power tools such as electric and pneumatic tools where applicable
• Drilling and handling of material such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
• Installation and removal of fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets
• Installation of brackets of welding processes
• Modifications of structure or engineering changes may be required
• Application of adhesives and sealants
• Use of metal, such as, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to proper heat and strength
• experience with structural integrity of metals (aluminum/ steel /stainless steel)
• Application of (MIG) welding techniques
• Proper use of electrical and gas functions on welding machine
• Cutting equipment such as plasma and acetylene cutter are occasionally used
• Installation and removal of fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets
• Follow lockout tagout procedures as well as live electricity safety standards
• Proper use of PPE and observes safety and security procedures
• Synthesizes complex or diverse information
• Demonstrates attention to detail

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.), or equivalent from two-year College, or technical school, or three years to six years related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
