SUMMARY

The SQE team is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and semi-products comply with the end customer’s requirements. During the development stage, the SQE team collaborates closely with Engineering and sourcing teams to evaluate suppliers' capabilities in delivering quality products on time. In the production stage, the team handles any supplier defects, coordinates quick solutions to minimize production schedule impacts, and promotes source improvement. They also qualify and disqualify suppliers based on their performance.

SQE is responsible for the quality insurance of incoming material and ensures incoming components or vehicles from external and internal suppliers meet the quality standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Review of supplier product specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements;
  • Develop incoming material inspection standards and inspection work instructions, IQC inspectors training;
  • Conducting tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues;
  • As a key node of the MRB process, SQE is responsible for judging the quality of components and disposing of them;
  • Performing regular QA audits to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with standards.
  • Monitoring the quality of incoming materials, take quick and appropriate measures for abnormal quality, to minimize the impact on production and delivery;
  • Serving as a liaison between company and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions;
  • Monitor incoming material quality performance, data analysis and case analysis, promote supplier quality improvement;
  • Work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management;
  • Other assigned tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or materials
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to manage project timelines.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably the automotive industry.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.


PAY RANGE

  • $80k-$100k/yr
