SUMMARY


BYD is a global leader in the design, build, and deployment of heavy-duty electric buses and trucks. BYD is focused on building and delivering the highest quality and highest reliability bus and heavy-duty electric truck systems in the world.
Now BYD is seeking an experienced Project Manager (not IT related position) to manage the build, delivery, and commissioning of heavy-duty electric buses or trucks in the United States and Canada. The candidate will be based at the BYD Lancaster, CA and will report to the department manager.
This individual must be extremely organized with attention to detail, hardworking, and dedicated to providing the highest level of quality and timeliness in the industry. We are seeking a person who is highly professional, and who can work individually, as well as in a multi-functional team. The ideal candidate will have external customer-facing project management experience in a technical field such as automotive, electrical, or heavy-equipment manufacturing and/or commissioning.


JOB DESCRIPTION


  • Plan, manage, and overse
    e electric bus projects and drives to deliver a quoted scope of work for the budget & schedule promised and to the quality customers expect.

  • Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of projects, recommend alternative solutions.

  • Serve as main contact to multiple layers of the organization, suppliers, and customers assisting in the troubleshooting of issues as required.

  • Coordinate internal support efforts to ensure a timely/thorough follow-up of projects.

  • Monitor customer feedback, taking appropriate action or leveraging internal resources as required.

  • Effective delivery of other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in Manufactory Industry's Project Management or relevant industry.

  • 3+ years of experience within an external customer-facing role.

  • Technical Degree / PMP certification preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to manage pressure and maintain a high level of energy.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and autonomously with necessary to drive results.

  • Must be able to efficiently multi-task and prioritize and have excellent organizational skill.

  • A positive, proactive personality with problem-solving skills and communication skill is necessary.

  • A strong sense of accountability and responsibility

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Fluent in Mandarin is a huge plus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

PAY RANGE
  • $70,000 - $100,000/year
