AUTO BODY PAINTER

Performs skilled work in preparing metal and other surfaces on automotive equipment for painting and in applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns and other auto painting equipment to automotive and construction equipment

JOB TITLE: AUTO BODY PAINTER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Prep units for paint: sanding, blocking, applying putty and visual inspection
• Bodywork (fills, blocking, bodyline creating/ moving)
• Priming and painting transit type buses
• Wet sanding transit type buses
• Disassemble and reassemble body components
• Dent repair, also using filler
• Light Frame repair
• metal finish and metal manipulation
• Understand and follow paint mixing instructions
• Understand and follow work instructions
• Mix paint as instructed to ensure optimal quality application
• Read plans, drawings, apply putty, paint and other materials to the unit
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as defects, materials, techniques, and other issues as needed

• 5 years’ experience painting in automotive industry (preferred)
