About the role


BYD is currently looking for a Warehouse Operative to join the team based in BYD UK, Hounslow, London area. The successful individual will manage the parts storage and daily operations of the warehouse.


Tasks & Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Book stock in and out of warehouse;
  • Dealing with deliveries, loading and unloading of parts;
  • Stock control capacity with the ability to accurately check all incoming stock for shortages and damage and reporting to supervisor;
  • Ensure operational excellence working with the operatives, including unloading parts, sorting, dispatch, stock rotation and returns;
  • Make sure the parts storage area is well-organized, clean and tidy and safe to work in;
  • To keep pallet truck, forklift and other used tools in good condition and submit maintenance request (if necessary);
  • Plan future capacity requirements and submit purchasing requests to parts supervisor;
  • Assist the supervisor to check the stock on a monthly basis and prepare a report;
  • Manage old parts, and submit scrap or repair reports quarterly;
  • Comply with company and health and safety regulations

Skills and requirements:

  • Physically fit and comfortable using safe, manual handling techniques;
  • Stock control ability, data management skills regarding parts in and out;
  • Passion for accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Good Computer skills including Microsoft Office, knowledge of WMS is desirable.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the warehouse;
  • Good communication skills, ability to liaise with supervisor and extended team;
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
