We are currently seeking a Parts Logistics Specialist to join our team based in BYD UK Office, Hounslow, London area and reporting directly to the Spare Parts Manager.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
- Track delivery status, solve re-occurring problems and support parts supervisor in updating customers.
- Arrange international shipments and for urgent parts in and out of UK (VOR, general stock or special return to EU and Chinese suppliers), by working closely with UK parts & warehouse.
- Advise overseas partners and suppliers on UK customs document requirements and fix gaps.
- Schedule deliveries on time, examine fulfilling capability of carriers and freight forwarders, impose penalties and escalate when required.
- Ensure all shipments have been checked and invoiced timely, supporting finance team in general accounts payable/receivable task and tackling discrepancies.
- Predict quarterly and annual custom and logistics budget.
- Produce and present findings and reports to management team, such as exception analysis and performance reporting.
- Validate import paperwork to complete clearance instructions, and obtaining import documents to meet business/HMRC regulations.
- Identify areas of improvement and savings opportunities , communicate updates to the business on any pricing changes.
Ideal candidate profile:
Education:
- Bachelor level, major in international trade, economics, logistics and accountancy, are desired, requirements may be more generous if you have special skills needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years' experience in cross-border sourcing or shipping industries.
- Good command of English, both written and verbal. Chinese skills would be beneficial.
- Understanding of import and export procedures, or with clear eagerness to learn or continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Cargo Wise and any other automotive retail system will be beneficial.
- Spreadsheet and database analytical techniques with Microsoft office suite.
- Communication skills with custom authorities or logistics partners.
- Problem-solving skills and hands-on approach.
- Strong attention to detail and data sensitivity is preferable.
- Must be able to work independently with a flexible approach
