BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers. Please note that this is a temporary position intended to support project needs over a 6-month timeframe. Temporary Assignment – Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Thermal Fluids Analyst to fulfill a temporary need within our System Design team. Location: This temporary role offers flexibility and can be performed onsite at our Advanced Technologies office in Lynchburg, VA, remotely, or as a hybrid position. Temporary Assignment – Thermal Fluids Analyst Responsibilities: Run simulations to evaluate system-level thermal performance. A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required. Must possess a technical background in mechanical engineering design, fluid systems, thermodynamics, and process instrumentation. Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office applications. Must possess the ability to self-direct with minimal day-to-day supervision. S. citizen. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required. Active DOE or DOD security clearance is preferred. The compensation for this temporary assignment will be negotiated based on the candidate's qualifications for this assignment and the selected employment arrangement.
