Marketing & Communications Internship - Nairobi based

Job Description

This is an internship of up to nine months, expected to start in January 2026. Candidates must be based in Nairobi and have access to a home office setup that supports full-time remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality written and digital content on sustainable finance and development topics.
  • Support BwB’s marketing, branding, and communications activities, including social media, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating events, webinars, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Prepare presentations, briefs, and communication materials for internal and external use.
  • Conduct research to inform communications, messaging, and outreach strategies.
  • Support the African Hub Director with day-to-day communication and coordination tasks.
  • Contribute to project delivery by completing communication-related tasks on time.

Skills Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Interest in sustainable development, climate issues, and the role of strategic communication in driving impact.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and develop new marketing and communications competencies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing timelines and coordinating workflows.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience in marketing, digital communications, social media management, or content creation is a strong advantage.
  • Financial modelling skills are not required but would be considered a bonus.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; fluency in a second language is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate, ideally with a background in Marketing, Communications, Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, International Development, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English; mastery of a second language is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work remotely with a reliable home office setup

Additional Information

The role is fully remote, home office based. Travel may be required relating to project work.
