Utility Consulting Director is responsible for the successful sale and execution of management and advisory consulting engagements. Transmission Planning Grid Modernization & Distribution Planning Resource Planning & Market Assessment Financial Analysis & Rates Utility Investment Planning Renewable Energy Energy Asset Advisory The Director will manage and provide expertise and professional development to a team of consultants and analysts in managing project quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontracts, proposals, estimates, and client relations. The Utility Consulting Director displays leadership through example and is confident and willing to take it to the next level. You’ll organize and direct consulting projects, including the overall pursuit, negotiation, execution, cost, schedule, and quality of deliverables. You’ll facilitate workshop sessions with senior-level client teams to understand client requirements, uncover needs, and develop action plans. Your communication and planning skills are vital to keeping everyone on the same page with project personnels needs and department management. You’ll liaise with internal and external subject matter experts to pursue and deliver consulting projects. You’re often the first point of contact for all project-related communications and clients. You\ll compile, distribute, and present status reports, including project progress, schedule, cost, and budget impacts to internal and external stakeholders. You’re a curious seeker, passionate about personal and professional growth, and willing to take strategic risks. You’ll establish project teams, coordinate activities amongst multiple disciplines, and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. You’ll provide performance feedback to personnel managers for project team members as appropriate. You’ll develop and contribute to training curricula and materials for consultants and analysts. You’ll be accountable for delivering third-party vendors and subcontractors, including contracts, scope, schedule, and budget. You’ll ensure prime contract, subcontractor, and supplier invoicing is processed promptly in alignment with agreements. Bachelor\s degree in engineering, business, or a related degree from an accredited program. MBA preferred. Minimum of 13 years of relevant consulting experience. Excellent business acumen with proven success managing consulting engagements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets quickly and efficiently. Ability to uncover customer needs, develop recommendations and deliver them persuasively. Strong understanding of financial concepts. Excellent planning and analytical skills. The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
