Strategic Business Development Manager - Decarbonization & Cleaner Production

Role Description
- Develop and execute a regional business development strategy for decarbonization and cleaner production consulting services, initially targeting the textile sector and expanding into footwear, electronics, furniture, and other consumer product sectors.
- Collaborate closely with the Global team to align regional growth initiatives with global sustainability goals, share best practices, and leverage technical expertise.
- Work with local service delivery teams to ensure effective implementation of projects, high client satisfaction, and tailored solutions meeting sector-specific needs.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with international brands, retailers, suppliers, local associations, NGOs (e.g., GIZ, WWF, IDH, WRI), and green finance institutions to support market penetration and partnership formation.
- Identify and capitalize on local and regional funding and partnership opportunities linked to decarbonization initiatives to accelerate adoption of services.
- Represent Bureau Veritas CPS at industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote thought leadership and showcase decarbonization and cleaner production expertise across multiple sectors.
- Collaborate with technical teams globally and locally to continuously develop and tailor consultancy offerings addressing client requirements related to CDP, SBTi, GHG accounting, carbon footprinting, and cleaner production.
- Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and facilitate smooth handover to delivery teams while ensuring strong communication and alignment across stakeholders.
- Monitor evolving climate policies, decarbonization funding sources, and cleaner production technologies relevant to Southeast Asia’s consumer product industries.
- Foster knowledge sharing and coordination between Global, regional, and local teams to ensure integrated and market-responsive approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or consultancy in decarbonization, climate action, or cleaner production within consumer product sectors, preferably including textiles and other sectors such as electronics or furniture.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with global and local teams to drive commercial and operational success.
- In-depth understanding of decarbonization frameworks (CDP, SBTi), GHG accounting, carbon footprinting, and cleaner production approaches.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior clients and partners.
- Track record of building partnerships with local associations, NGOs, and green finance entities.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in regional languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Southeast Asia.
