Bullfrog Power is seeking a seasoned carbon markets expert for a 3-month contract (with possibility of extension) to deliver strategic market insights across carbon and environmental markets. Ideal for a senior consultant with 7–10 years’ experience in renewable energy, carbon markets, PPAs, and RECs who wants to make real climate impact.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The Senior Consultant, Carbon Markets is a contract-based strategic advisory role, with the possibility of extension, providing expert market intelligence, research, and analysis to support Bullfrog Power’s growth, product strategy, and policy positioning across environmental and carbon markets.


Working closely with the Bullfrog Management Team and cross-functional stakeholders, this role focuses on translating complex market, regulatory, and policy developments into clear, actionable insights that inform business decisions. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented consulting role requiring strong analytical judgment, deep market expertise, and the ability to influence senior leaders through evidence-based recommendations.


The ideal candidate brings strong experience in renewable energy and environmental markets, including North American energy markets, compliance and voluntary carbon markets, Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and related environmental attributes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Market Research & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to support Bullfrog’s current and future products and services, including compliance and voluntary carbon markets, low-carbon fuels markets, and broader global decarbonization frameworks
  • Analyze customer needs, market trends, pricing signals, and regulatory developments to generate insights that inform corporate strategy and business development priorities
  • Synthesize complex data into concise, actionable recommendations for senior leadership


Competitive Intelligence & Policy Monitoring

  • Research and maintain competitive intelligence across key markets, including emerging competitors, product innovations, and evolving policy landscapes
  • Monitor regulatory and policy changes affecting carbon markets, renewable energy, and climate solutions, and clearly communicate implications to internal stakeholders
  • Provide informed perspectives on market evolution, risks, and emerging opportunities


Product, Commercial & Sales Support

  • Support the refinement and positioning of Bullfrog’s product offerings to ensure strong market alignment and customer value
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to deliver market analyses that inform go-to-market strategies, pricing, positioning, and customer engagement
  • Provide market insights and customer-specific analysis to support sales acquisition and retention efforts


Innovation & Opportunity Development

  • Contribute to the conceptualization of innovative, customer-focused solutions aligned with Bullfrog’s mission and client sustainability goals
  • Identify, assess, and evaluate new market opportunities that support Bullfrog’s growth and impact objectives


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • University-level education in business, environmental studies, sustainability, engineering, or a related field is an asset
  • Experience with Project Description Document (PDD) development for carbon projects is an asset
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in clean technology, climate solutions, carbon markets, or energy markets
  • Strong knowledge of North American energy and environmental markets, including PPAs, RECs, carbon standards, methodologies, registries, and market mechanisms
  • Understanding of decarbonization efforts across multiple sectors and carbon accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and market concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a consulting or contract environment
