Operations Intern
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (in-person)
Duration: 6 months (full time)
Start date: May 26th-November 27th
About Brineworks
Brineworks is an Amsterdam-based climate tech company building an ultra low-cost Direct Air Capture technology. Our proprietary electrolyzer captures CO₂ directly from the air while co-producing green hydrogen. This breakthrough unlocks affordable and scalable carbon removal and e-Fuel production.
The Role
We're looking for an Operations Intern to keep Brineworks running smoothly behind the scenes and to jump on the wide range of tasks that come with life at an early-stage tech startup. You'll work closely with the Business Development Lead, taking on a wide mix of tasks: operations, marketing support, applications and pitches, industry research, and the many ad-hoc things that come with building a startup.
If you're proactive, organized, enjoy variety, and like the idea of getting hands-on exposure to how a fast-growing startup actually works day-to-day, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Help prepare applications for competitions, awards, and conferences, including pitch decks, one-pagers, and pitch materials
- Support marketing and content creation across our channels
- Track news and developments across the industry, and share relevant updates with the team
- Help organize internal events, offsites, and team gatherings
- Keep the office running smoothly: supplies, vendors, meeting setups, and the day-to-day things that make the workspace work
- Hop on whatever else comes up, at an early-stage startup, no two weeks look the same
What we're looking for
- Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's or in a Master's program at a European university, in a field such as business, economics, sustainability, energy, environmental studies, public policy, or a related discipline
- Already based in the Netherlands, or able to relocate to Amsterdam for the duration of the internship
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle different tasks without dropping any
- Proactive: you notice when something needs attention and take the initiative to fix it
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Fluent in English
- Please note: we are unable to sponsor visas for this role. Applicants must already have the right to work/intern in the Netherlands (BSN required)
Nice to have
- Driven by a genuine desire to contribute to meaningful change
- Familiarity with the energy sector and sustainability topics such as carbon removal and e-Fuels
- Previous experience in operations, marketing, content creation, event planning, consulting or working in a startup environment
- A valid driver's license
- Additional European languages
