Demand Generation Manager
Growth & Pipeline Generation Manager / B2B Demand Generation Manager
Newbury, Berkshire | Hybrid, minimum two days in the office | Permanent | £52k to £65k plus annual company bonus (up to 10% of salary), plus benefits.
Are you a pipeline builder, not just a campaign runner?
Our client is a PE backed B2B energy services business entering an ambitious growth phase. Their product is genuinely different from the traditional energy broker model: software that gives customers their energy usage in near real time, on a thirty minute delay. That is a proposition worth building outbound around, because it gives you something concrete to say rather than another cost saving promise.
The marketing team is AI first, lean and commercially focused. This is a role where the whole top of the funnel is yours to design, build and deliver.
The role
You will own how the business finds, maps and engages target accounts across its direct customer and channel partner routes to market. Using platforms such as Amplemarket, Cognism and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, you will identify the right companies and decision makers, enrich and prioritise them, and run personalised outreach at scale that turns into qualified MQLs and SQLs. Sales ready leads go to an in house call centre for qualification, and the rest go into nurture programmes you will lead until they are ready to convert.
What success looks like
The sales team needs fifteen qualified leads a month. That is the number, and it is the clearest brief you will get. In year one, success means three things: a reliable outreach mechanism that works repeatably, content that makes people pick up the phone, and warm leads handed cleanly to sales for qualification. Everything else is detail.
What you will do • Turn ICPs and priority verticals into target account lists and map the buying groups within them • Build automated prospecting workflows covering enrichment, scoring, intent signals and prioritisation • Design and run personalised outbound sequences across email and LinkedIn, writing copy that cuts through • Agree MQL criteria, lead scoring and routing with the call centre and sales teams, and run regular lead quality reviews • Build segmented nurture programmes that bring leads back to sales readiness • Keep Salesforce as the single source of truth and report on performance from first touch to signed business • Create outreach, nurture and campaign content, landing pages and sales collateral, using AI to move fast without losing quality • Support and guide a junior apprentice alongside your own delivery
The autonomy on offer
This is an individual contributor role with real latitude. You will choose the tools, test the approaches and own the result. If you want to trial Clay, AgentFlow or something nobody here has heard of yet, the answer is yes, provided it moves the number. Nobody will be standing over your shoulder, which also means nobody else is going to build this for you.
What you will bring • Proven B2B pipeline generation through outbound and account based prospecting • Hands on expertise with data enrichment and prospecting tools such as Amplemarket, Cognism, Apollo or Sales Navigator • Confident Salesforce user at a practical level. You do not need to be an admin, but you do need to know what you want and be able to brief in house engineers to build it • Real examples of AI agents, automations or workflows you have built yourself • Experience working with an inside sales or call centre team on lead handover and feedback • Excellent outreach copywriting with evidence of strong reply rates • Working knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR and email deliverability • A commercial, test and learn mindset and a genuine appetite to roll your sleeves up
A SaaS background works perfectly well here. Energy sector knowledge is a bonus rather than a requirement. Experience in a PE or VC backed scale up, GTM engineering, RevOps or SDR and BDR leadership would also stand out.
The process
Three stages, and deliberately practical. An informal conversation first. Then a presentation of your first ninety day plan, which is where this role is really won. Then a final culture conversation with the wider leadership team.
Why this role
No layers between you and the work, a number you can actually move, and the chance to build the engine rather than maintain someone else's. If you enjoy pace, ownership and the bumpy ride of a scaling business, we would love to hear from you.
