About the Role:

The Engineering Manager at our Conway SC Plant will lead and oversee the engineering department to drive innovation and efficiency in durable goods manufacturing. This role is pivotal in managing cross-functional engineering teams focused on product engineering, manufacturing processes, and energy management to ensure high-quality output and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning engineering projects with business objectives, optimizing process control systems, and implementing best practices in electrical and process engineering. They will foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement, technical development, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance product reliability, reduce costs, and support sustainable manufacturing initiatives through effective leadership and strategic engineering management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering roles within durable goods manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a management or leadership position.
  • Proven experience in engineering management, project engineering, and process control.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and energy management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced process control systems and automation technologies.
  • Previous experience working in a durable goods manufacturing environment with a focus on sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering department, including product, manufacturing, process, and project engineering teams.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and energy efficiency.
  • Oversee process control and electrical engineering activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and supply chain to support seamless operations and continuous improvement.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Drive energy management initiatives to optimize resource utilization and reduce environmental impact.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Analyze engineering data and metrics to identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Manage and approve/deny capital projects.
  • Contribute productivity improvements & commit the profit based on mid-term plan.
  • Must be able to spend 70%+ time on the plant production floor (hot environment and PPE required).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as business needs dictate, to include days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
