Senior Environmental Project Manager (Chicago)

An established engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to support the growing Grid Resilience and Renewable Energy sector. This individual will play a key role in leading environmental investigations, managing complex projects, and guiding teams in delivering sustainable solutions for large-scale infrastructure and clean energy initiatives.

What Youll Do

• Oversee and manage environmental projects from concept through completion, with a focus on grid resilience and renewable energy.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Supervise field investigations and ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop proposals, pursue new business opportunities, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and disciplines to drive results.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation for stakeholders.

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related science (Masters preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in environmental investigations, remediation, and compliance
• Strong knowledge of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proven track record in managing projects, teams, and client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Strong analytical and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to travel locally for site visits and client meetings (valid drivers license required).
