Your new role:


Reporting to the “Head of” you will be responsible for implementing strategic direction to deliver Community, Regional and First Nations engagement. This is a high-impact, operational role, you will manage a pipeline of projects and lead a small team, acting as the primary face of projects in regional communities. You will work with, review and implement the business’ community engagement framework, to effectively demonstrate our client’s commitment to engagement whilst maintaining their reputation. You will:


  • Implement a stakeholder management and engagement strategy, identifying stakeholder risks and opportunities.
  • Implement best practices for First Nations engagement and opportunities.
  • Work with various stakeholders to best deliver lasting social and economic benefits to regional and First Nation communities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure smooth progress of projects.
  • Lead working groups and lobbying activities with authorities and local associations.
  • Identify, analyse, liaise, document, and negotiate with stakeholders including government bodies, media and local organisations.
  • Maintain an overview of all national and local policy decisions and communications that may impact business and client projects, ensuring stakeholder engagement complies with legal requirements.
  • Monitor and pre-empt issues with stakeholders and determine mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the various project teams and report to senior management.


Who you are:


At least 5 – 7 years’ experience with complex stakeholder requirements, particularly around environmental and social impacts of renewable energy projects in regional areas and a willingness to travel. Utility scale Solar and/or BESS backgrounds are ideal, but energy generation infrastructure experience will also be considered. You also have experience in developing and managing community development programmes and initiatives. Cultural heritage and indigenous engagement experience and familiarity with project management practices.
