At Boylan Consulting we are seeking a Sustainability Consultant / Environmental Scientist to join our team.
This is a varied technical and client-facing role, supporting projects across life-cycle assessment, carbon management, sustainability and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will work across a range of sectors, providing practical and technically robust environmental solutions to clients from project inception through to delivery and compliance.
We are looking for a professional with 5 years’ relevant experience who can work independently, manage multiple projects and deadlines, liaise confidently with clients and regulators, and contribute to the continued development of company’s sustainability and environmental services.

About the available position:
- Location: Unit 33, Kells Business Park, Kells, Co. Meath, A82 Y466
- Salary: Negotiable
- Education: BSc in Environmental Science or similar field.
- Type of Position: Permanent full-time position
- Experience: Minimum 5 years
Key responsibilities & Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for range of technical and project activities, including
- Undertaking Life-Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA) for buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Working with EPDs, BIM models, Bills of Quantities and LCA software to calculate and optimise embodied carbon.
- Preparation of technical reports, carbon assessments and sustainability documentation in accordance with relevant standards and methodologies.
- Supporting clients in understanding and reducing environmental and carbon impacts through design and material optimisation.
- Supporting clients with carbon reduction strategies, decarbonisation planning and sustainability assessments.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in undertaking embodied carbon and whole-life carbon assessments together with a strong understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.
- Working knowledge of recognised standards and industry guidance, including ISO 14040/14044, EN 15978 and the RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment for the Built Environment.
- Experience using INDICATE or similar LCA/carbon assessment software
- Experience working with BIM/Revit models, Bills of Quantities and EPD databases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills/attributes:
- Knowledge of GHG Protocol, ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability standards.
