Within our business unit, you will participate in the installation and maintenance of subsea cable systems—a vital component of offshore wind farms and other energy projects. Subsea Cables Business Unit

Boskalis has an unparalleled track record in subsea cable installation. We have successfully installed more than 5,000 km of export and array cables using our own fleet of cable-laying and trenching vessels, barges, and advanced support equipment.

Imagine being part of a team executing various international and unique projects, such as:

  • Hollandse Kust West Beta, with a contract scope of two 65-kilometer-long export cables that will connect the planned 700 MW Hollandse Kust West Beta offshore wind farm to TenneT's onshore grid in the Netherlands.
  • Baltic II, with a project scope of the transport and installation of 107 array cables with a total length of more than 150 kilometers, plus four 275 kV export cables with a total length of almost 300 kilometers.

Your Responsibilities

During your internship, you will:

  • Contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our underwater vehicles, also known as ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles);
  • Support technical inspections and testing of electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical components;
  • Learn how to deploy our systems safely and efficiently on offshore projects.

You are the right student for this internship if:

  • You are pursuing a MBO or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics;
  • You are eager to learn, practical, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves;
  • You are interested in technology, maritime projects, and innovative offshore solutions.
