How you can make your mark

Boskalis is looking for a student to do their graduation or practical internship with us.

Our Offshore Energy division delivers innovative and sustainable solutions across the field of energy, covering the full lifecycle from development and transport to maintenance and decommissioning. As part of Boskalis’ Offshore Energy division, the Subsea Cables & Flexibles business unit specializes in subsea power cable installation for offshore wind farms, Balance of Plant maintenance for the renewables market, umbilical and flowline installation for oil & gas, and interconnectors. These projects span the globe, including unique assignments such as

  • Hollandse Kust West Beta, involving two 65 km export cables linking a 700 MW offshore wind farm to the Dutch grid, and
  • Baltic II, entailing transportation and installation of 107 array cables (150 km) plus four export cables (300 km combined).

Submarine power cables are buried several meters below the seabed in diverse soil and rock conditions to safeguard them against anchors, fishing activities, currents, and scour. This is achieved using advanced remotely operated subsea trenching machines such as the HD3 Plough, Cable Burial Tractor 2400, Burial Sledge System III, and ROV Trencher 107. Efficient operation of this specialized equipment relies on a planned maintenance system, with all activities managed and recorded according to supplier and subcontractor instructions.
