The Director, Operations & Maintenance is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Boralex's renewable energy portfolio in the United Kingdom. Working closely with operational, technical, commercial, and corporate teams across Europe, you will drive asset performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while supporting the growth and long-term value of Boralex's wind and energy storage assets.

The Director, Operations & Maintenance is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Boralex's renewable energy portfolio in the United Kingdom. Working closely with operational, technical, commercial, and corporate teams across Europe, you will drive asset performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while supporting the growth and long-term value of Boralex's wind and energy storage assets.
You will play an important role in
- Defining and implementing the UK Operations & Maintenance strategy to support the long-term performance, reliability, and value of Boralex's renewable energy portfolio.
- Ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of wind and battery energy storage assets while maintaining compliance with regulatory, environmental, and health & safety requirements.
- Building a scalable operating model capable of supporting the continued growth of the UK portfolio and future asset integrations.
- Leading the development of operational excellence standards, maintenance practices, and performance improvement initiatives across all operating assets.
- Fostering collaboration between UK and European teams to leverage expertise, standardize best practices, and support continuous improvement.
- Developing strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and key external stakeholders to ensure operational success.
- Leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams while promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. A Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy operations, maintenance or asset management.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic contractor relationships.
- Strong experience with operational budgeting, asset performance management and long-term business planning.
- Previous experience within the UK renewable energy sector is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of onshore wind operations and maintenance.
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated operational requirements.
- Knowledge of high-voltage systems, substations and balance of plant infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, operational governance and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing operational performance through KPIs, asset monitoring systems and maintenance planning tools.
- Knowledge of UK electricity market and grid interfaces, including operational and commercial considerations.
- Professional French is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the United Kingdom, including Northern Scotland, and occasionally within Europe.
